GROTH Design Group Announces Ownership Transition

GROTH Design Group (GDG), an award-winning planning, architecture and interior design firm, announced today a transition of ownership from its Founder Mike Groth, AIA, NCARB, to Partners Peter Schneider, AIA, LEED AP; Mike McGraw, AIA, CSI, CDT; and Peter Damsgaard. Under Groth’s visionary leadership, GDG has flourished, expanding to nearly 40 professionals across three offices in Cedarburg, Milwaukee and Appleton, Wis. Groth will remain actively involved in an advisory role during the coming year.

“We couldn’t be more excited and are well-positioned for continued growth in all markets,” said Schneider, partner. “GDG has worked hard to build a reputation as a high design firm with a team of employees that our clients love to work with. We’re proud of that and look forward to the next 30 years.”

30 Years and Growing

The transition coincides with GDG’s celebration of its 30th anniversary. Groth founded the firm in 1994 with a focus on faith-based communities and non-profit organizations, and with a mission to Listen, Lead, Serve. Now one of Wisconsin’s leading design firms, markets served include religious, education, corporate, healthcare, senior & supportive living, community and hospitality, with projects in communities throughout the Midwest, in addition to current work in Florida, Arizona, and New Mexico.

“Our commitment to serve those who serve remains at the core of our mission,” said Damsgaard. “It’s an honor to carry forward Mike’s legacy.”

The firm’s team includes sought-after experts in all markets served. Recent clients of note include Marquette University, Children’s Wisconsin, Sixteenth Street Clinic, Journey 21, Racine Unified School District, Annex Wealth Management, Lakeland Community Church, and many more.

“As we turn this page in GDG’s story, we remain steadfast in our commitment to clients,” said McGraw, partner. “Our exceptional team is navigating this transition seamlessly.”

“Peter, Mike and Peter have been an integral part of the firm’s growth and transformation. I am grateful for the opportunity to have worked with a team who truly embodies our mission and am leaving the firm in the hands of exceptional leaders,” said Groth, founder.
